The number of people who, for various reasons, prefer to work from home is growing. You may be one of them.
The main problem faced when working from home is the timetable. The working day has gone from 8 hours to 10, or 3, or worse, none at all because you can't get organized. There is no perfect trick, it's all about organization and a little bit of willpower to know that even if you are at home and can put on your pajamas, you can't spend the whole day lying on the couch.
Plan ahead. This is the only way you will be able to cope with all your tasks. Make a schedule and with a little motivation and another bit of willpower, you will be able to decide when to get everything done without getting overwhelmed.
Mind you, you are now free. Free of schedule, free of hours, free for your errands. Back are the beers with friends in the afternoon or being able to take the kids to school. The little pleasures of life seem to be able to be modified at your whim.
As a recommendation, make your own schedule. In this sense you can include your personal plans, do not leave them aside if that is what you really want but commit to the schedule, it is the key point to combine and perform at work.
Do you know what is the little trick best kept by professionals? Make short lists the night before with your tasks for the next day, or even propose one day a week to focus and organize when you will take care of all your pending activities.
We want to add one more key to this, and although it may seem very simple, we are not aware of how important it is: create a routine for yourself.
Routines are the most important way we have to perform, even for our own organism. Small things like starting work every day at the same time, or every Monday at the same time even if you have Tuesday off for errands, will help you get organized with all your activities.
But if there is a significant point when it comes to working from home, it is precisely where you are going to work. Many people think that if they work from home, any place is valid. We can tell you that it is not.
Having a place set aside just for it will help you disconnect on stressful days. It can be a small table or a corner of the house, but really let that be your work space. You'll sit there and know you have to work, and when you can be in other rooms of the house, you'll know it's time to unwind.
That space can be decorated with different tools that will help you make it more productive. First of all, clean and tidy. Starting the working day with a dirty table or a table full of utensils that you will never use is totally unnecessary and uncomfortable. Open your piggy bank and buy a good chair, you will spend too many hours sitting on it! The more natural light, the better, but avoid any kind of reflection on the computer. Always have something green, a small plant is the positive point of vitality you need, but no mobiles! Obviously not in the strictest sense, you will need to make calls or you are so hooked on WhatsApp that you don't know how to live without it anymore; but if you really want to perform to work from home, open sessions on your devices, social networks, your personal mail, etc., are only reasons for distraction.
However, what we will never get involved in is how you should dress to work from home. Our motto is that if you want pajamas, then pajamas, and we would all love to be able to dress so comfortably and warmly on the street!
Now then. At this point, we at Aticco we want to make you feel at home. That's why we invite you to visit our facilities and discover how we can help you feel in your new home, and we might just make things even easier for you!
