Aticco was born in 2016 as a coworking space located in the attic of what is now Aticco Urquinaona, under the vision of its founders Gabriel Espín, Juan Carlos Morales and Franz Pallerés, who had a clear goal: To create a coworking that was more than just a workspace, that was a place where professionals, entrepreneurs and companies could grow, and above all, make community.
With this goal in mind, Aticco began to grow and one coworking space became five spaces spread across Barcelona. Later, the Covid-19 pandemic struck the city, and the world, and although coworking spaces were clearly affected, for Aticco it was an opportunity to innovate and find new ways to achieve its goal.
Thus AticcoLab, a platform to promote entrepreneurship, was born in 2022, as well as Aticco Living, Aticco's coliving division. Later on, the business angel community Aticco Ventures was also incorporated. With this new value proposition that made Aticco more than just a coworking space, the company resumed its growth with even more strength.
By the beginning of 2024, Aticco already had 7 coworking spaces between Barcelona and Madrid, and another 5 preparing to open during the year, including its first center in Valencia and the Barcelona Finance Hub project. But not only that, it also had more than 350 operational coworking units, a portfolio of more than 150 accelerated startups, and a community of more than 6,000 members. And the numbers just kept growing.
With this accelerated growth and the expansion of its value proposition, suddenly the question "what is Aticco?" became harder to answer. "Aticco is coworking, but it's more than coworking. It's also a coliving. And it has programs to accelerate and support startups. And they host roundtables every week and great networking events. It's... an ecosystem?".
Then it was time to go back to the base from which Aticco was founded, to understand what Aticco is for your team, for your community, for your collaborators.
